OMG. I am melting out here. Dry heat or not, 106 is not a comfortable temperature. Heck it is in the mid-90’s right now and it is like 12:30AM.
We cruised (and I mean walked fairly quickly…) up and down the strip, well not the whole strip, from the Venetian to the Luxor. I spent money in nearly every casino in that area.
We are staying in the Venetian, it is gorgeous. We have the room rate below full Concierge level in the Venezia portion. I highly recommend this as you are away from most of the crazy riff raff. I actually like it overall better than everything south of the Venetian. The MGM was neat but seemed a trifle chaotic. When on vacation, I like calm things. If I want adrenaline and craziness, I work. Partying and clubbing is for people who are in school or don’t have a very challenging job, IMO.
We hit one of the fancy restaurants in the Venetian, it was a steakhouse called the Del Monico or something like that. It absolutely sucked. Way overpriced for way bad food. I would rather throw away $100 on a 5 second random slot machine pull than spend $100 to eat in that place again. I wouldn’t even eat there on an expense account.
I don’t know how the Nevada, New Mexico, and Arizona people do it. I couldn’t handle this temperature very long and I can’t live in A/C all of the time. If my A/C is on more than 4 days a week at home I am not thrilled about it. Both because of the cost and the “stale” air factor.
All in all, a fun trip. Wouldn’t want to live here, looking forward to flying to SanFran tomorrow morning and back to Michigan Sunday evening. We have gotten sick of gambling, we didn’t even spend all of the money I set aside for it and in fact, I turned in about $200 worth of winning tickets this evening. I won’t say how much we did spend. It is amazing how fast $20 is eaten by a $1 slot machine with three coin plays… Even worse, a $.05 slot with 90 coin plays.
So I thought I would hack into the Venetian pay to play internet connectivity (this is another reason to load Ethereal people if learning how your network works isn’t enough) and within 2 minutes I was online checking email and not paying for connectivity. I pay enough for the room, internet should be included.

We have been informed of your impropriety regarding the subversion of our Internet payment system. Instead of pressing charges, we have added a post-payment on your account for the amount of $106 - 48 hours worth of Internet connectivity.
We hope in the future you will refrain from this hacker behavior by paying the reasonable fees designated by the Venetian and its restaurants.

That is fine, I didn’t register as myself, I registered as George Clooney.

Dear George,
Please refrain from charging items from the hotel gift shop to the expense account of the “Ocean’s Twelve” film production - we’re not daft, you know, that movie stopped filming at least 2 or 3 days ago.
Sincerely,
Venetian Security
