Kelly Pickler got voted off American Idol tonight. Wow. I was quite shocked even though she hasn’t sung great the last two weeks.
She wasn’t my favorite but I truly expected her to be in the top three based on her charisma alone. Certainly I think she should have outlasted Paris, Elliot, and Taylor. It may be a singing competition, but this is the US, I don’t think most people know what good singing actually is. If you say some girl is singing flat they look down, they don’t open their ears. :) Plus the entertainment industry here seems very much to be a popularity contest.
For those who haven’t spoken to me on this topic I figured the top three would be Katharine, Chris, and Kelly with Kelly winning. Now my favorite out of the bunch is Katharine but I figure she was too under the RADAR for America to vote her as the winner. Now I have more faith in that. She has an amazing voice. I think Chris is a great singer as well, but Kat blows him off the stage.
I also really like Taylor but I think he is a bit “odd” for people to vote him as American Idol, I think folks are put off by some of his slightly odd movement.
I also really like Elliott but just don’t see him as the American Idol.
Paris is the last of the top 5 and she has an amazing voice, but not the charisma.

I too was shocked about Kelly leaving. I didn’t figure she’d win, but did think she’d outlast Elliot and Paris. I guess people just got sick of the act. Chris has been my pick to win for about 5 weeks now, but I agree Kat has really been noticeable lately. They’ll be last two for sure.
I’m ashamed that I’m discussing this.
P.S. Unanimous is such the funnier show - what a bunch of whiners.

It is hilarious that you are discussing this…. My wife watches it, and I have been drawn in a bit. It is a shame about Kelly, she is HOT.

There is a website http://votefortheworst.com/ and they had hung their hat on Kelly as the worst over the last few weeks. Now that she is out they pick Taylor out of the 5.
I never liked Kelly because can anyone actually be that dumb?
I agree with you Kat or Chris. I like both of them, but I think Kat is stunningly beautiful so she gets my vote.

Yes Katherine is absolutely amazingly beautiful and talented, incredible, just a little shy and quiet it seems; I fully concur there. Her personality isn’t an in your face personality like the other folks.
