Ok let’s face it, when you are in the Northern Hemisphere and you think of summer, you stop thinking of it as being summer as of September 1. I don’t care what the stars say or the length of the day says or the angle of the earth or any of it. Summer ends when August does. My glorious warm tropical tan, thanks to my Filipino blood, that I slowly built up running around in the jeep all summer quickly fades away, thanks to my German blood, until I look like all of the other pasty IT/CS workers who don’t ever go out into the sunlight (you know who you are).
Goodbye summer… I barely got to know you….
How fun would it be to live in the Southern Hemisphere during the months that it was summer there and the Northern Hemisphere for summer here? I could see myself as a dual citizenship kind of guy. US and Australia. Disneyland and Oz… I could take a cruise ship that hovers near the equator to get back and forth and let it take like a month or two for each trip so you get those so-so middle can’t commit months between the two summers out of the way…
