F5 VPN solution on Windows 7 anyone???

by @ 5:21 pm on 9/22/2009. Filed under tech

Anyone get this working? I keep blowing up when installing the ActiveX components or if I get through the install it just hangs on checking connection. I actually need this working to get to the network of one of my customers.

  1. Did you try IE8 compatibility view?

I always had one VM per VPN client per customer

Running Windows Server 2008 R2 here – works without a problem. You’ll need to make sure though that all your F5 stuff is up-to-date.

Thanks Brian, I will look at IE8 compat view.

Thanks Paul. I will look into that, I wouldn’t be surprised if this customer was using older stuff.

There should be one more comment here, I think I clicked the wrong button when approving because it went to the spam container…

RE: missing comment: heh. You’re not missing much

    I believe it was:

“Did you get a network trace? ;)”

Brian: IE8 compat didn’t help, also none of the various XP compat things you can do for apps.

Scotte: AH! Actually it doesn’t even get through the activex control install properly. Just hangs on “installing”.

My solution is that I loaded vmware 6.5 onto my Win7 Ultimate desktop machine and will use that. I wanted to use xp mode but unfortunately my mobo/cpu don’t support H-V. 🙁
