Interesting lecture
Information about joeware mixed with wild and crazy opinions…
…and I am still using LDAP…
Obviously the announcement of its demise was a bit premature.
That is why I chuckled when I heard it last year.

I thought this was an interesting little setup…

Yes that is a little different from what I normally post. But hey, I live in the country and am thinking about getting some chickens.

Hey xxx,
You should only try to download joeware utilities from my website… I can’t vouche for whether or not other sites have put anything into the executable.

There is no one center of all the celestial spheres [orbits].
The Earth’s center is not the center of the universe.
The center of the universe is near the sun.
The distance of the Earth to the sun is imperceptible compared with the distance to the stars.
The rotation of the Earth accounts for the [...]
Unfortunately this year I won’t be attending the Microsoft MVP Global Summit in Seattle nor The Experts Conference. Things didn’t work out properly for me to pull it off. I will greatly miss seeing my friends at Microsoft at the summit as well as the other MVPs.
I will also (as will my g/f) miss [...]
…what would you guys like to see in it?
I am once again thinking about writing a book for AdFind and AdMod coupled with LDAP basics, Active Directory basics, and ADAM / ADLDS Basics. Then maybe some discussion on how to use all of the above mentioned products. Basic guidelines I give folks when I asked. [...]
asked the question “So if humans have been around pretty much at this same evolutionary state for thousands of years, how come we are the first ones playing Halo on Xbox?” or something similar? My g/f asked me a question like that a few months back and I started to explain that well we don’t [...]
This is an interesting article…
http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2010/01/darpa-us-geek-shortage-is-a-national-security-risk/
Sure, we’re all plugged in and online 24/7. But fewer American kids are growing up to be bona fide computer geeks. And that poses a serious security risk for the country, according to the Defense Department.
I think a another big part of this problem is around [...]

This email came in from one of my former work managers… It wasn’t him. I knew it by the writing style and word choice and well, that it happened at all to be honest, as soon as I saw it but others may not figure it out so fast…
Hi, I really don’t mean to [...]
Is someone trying to gear up for the 2012 election already???

People who get the shivers over tarantulas likely imagine a gigantic bite from a fanged mouth. But as one man recently found out in England, tarantulas are more likely to defend themselves by shooting a mist of microscopic barbed hairs straight into your eye.
Man walks for the first time in 20 years after being [...]
This morning on the Fox 2 news in Detroit there was a report that the 50 year old refrigerator at the Macomb County Jail had mold in it and had to be shut down. That meant that prisoners had to be fed bologna sandwiches and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and the prisoners were complaining… [...]
In a previous blog entry (http://blog.joeware.net/2009/12/05/1826/) I mentioned a need for some software for the Storm Chasers… A person (name withheld to protect the guilty) sent me a nice informative email on some of this stuff and I wanted to share parts of it… Note I did ask for permission first…
“Most chasers and spotters, including [...]
In 1944 the Battle of the Bulge began… Bloodiest set battles of World War II for American Forces but the end was in sight for the Nazi war machine.
My Aunt Linda sent this to me.

I have the Discovery Channel Storm Chasers show on for background while working on something else. I don’t purposely watch this show normally but when it happens to be on, I leave it on because it is interesting.
After two episodes in a row I started thinking, they really need to tie all of these [...]

Charlotte, North Carolina bound tomorrow morning for the Thanksgiving festivities. If you are down there and see someone running around in a joeware hoody or t-shirt please feel free to say hi. If you have a tech position in a company that pays really well, be even more forceful.
I got the pictures below in my inbox… As well as a link to the Top Gear review (I LOVE TOP GEAR – but I don’t get it with my cable system…)

I get a lot of emails from people asking for help. I generally look at the domain the emails come from. Usually it is gmail or hotmail or yahoo or comcast but there are a lot of business email addresses as well. Of those sometimes I get a good chuckle because it is from someone [...]
On this day in 2000, the U.S. went to the polls to choose between George W. Bush and Al Gore. The outcome wouldn’t be known for more than a month because of disputed votes in Florida. We all learned far more about hanging chads and alleged corruption in Broward County than we wanted.
But on [...]

I just added a plugin to WordPress that should make reading the blog easier from say an iPhone, iTouch, or Android based smartphones. It’s called WPtouch and seems pretty cool.
Seems my value to the community is still enough to merit recognition. I am very happy to be in a position to help folks out with the things I have learned and the things I am still learning every day.
Congratulations! We are pleased to present you with the 2009 Microsoft® MVP Award! This [...]

You may have encountered some perf issues reading the blog today (Sept 14, 2009). This was due to something within my provider POWWEB. I contacted them and they said they would look into it and suddenly it was working as normal again. Of course this provoked questions…
This was the first response I received
