Still no blog posts from Brett.
~Eric has another humorous writeup concerning this spellbinding tale of the complete lack of the written word (excluding categories of course) and the man and the ideas behind the man it takes to accomplish it in such a spectacular fashion.
I am starting to believe that when, but mostly “if”, Brett actually posts a blog entry, droves of loyal followers will be let down. Can the actual posts measure up to the hype of the possibility of Brett ever posting? It is like the buildup before Star Wars Episode I, everyone is hushed with bated breath only to run head long into Jar Jar Binks when we were of course hoping for something more on par with what was in Episode III or even Episode II.
If I had a recommendation for Brett on what to post about first. I think I would choose the admin limits built into AD for updating objects. Say when you stuff ~1300 values into a multivalue attribute and you can no longer add any more values to that attribute nor populate any other new attributes on the object. What is that all about? What are the limits? How do you determine how close you are to hitting them? Is there other ways to hit that limit?

I can speak to that ask, the multivalued limit one. Essentially it comes down to the max record size in ESE, and the # of values we can stuff in a single record.
W/O getting too much in to the gory details, the 1300 is actually a somewhat “rough” number, a best case of sorts. It is essentially a best case, assuming all LIDs in the record. Reality is, you’ll atcually get less than 1300 in the average case (this number assumes all LIDs, and assumes no other values on the object, neither assumption being valid….no such thing as an object with _just_ your stuff on it).
I can show the math sometime on my blog, I never thought such crud was of general interest?
Yes blog it please.
