I have been a beta tester of Microsoft products for quite a long time. Something that never ceases to confuse me is why they can’t stick with the same web site for the betas.
I would say in the last 4 or so years I have had to go to a different website for every beta. I figured once they had betaplace that would put an end to it…. Then I figured once they had beta.microsoft.com, that would put an end to it…
Nope…
I just went to download the Longhorn Beta bits and I can’t find it anywhere on the two beta sites that I know to have been recently used. So I go back to the emails from a few weeks ago when I was accepted and find, surprise surprise, yet another website. This just screams to me that there is some core fundamental lack of communication and understanding within MS. People don’t want to remember more web sites, they want to remember less. The Longhorn beta is a beta… hence it should be accessible from beta.microsoft.com.
I ask the MS folks who lurk around on this blog (you know who you are)… Why?
