Well the HP laptop I ordered was not supposed to be built and shipped until next week but I just read a notification that it was shipped this morning (EST). Not sure where it is coming from but it has 5-7 days to get here which means I will probably have it in my hands prior to when it was supposed to be shipped.
Once I get it, I will verify the RAM type and order some more memory, most likely from www.newegg.com. I am very happy with everything I have purchased through them. I have even had to return things (once got the wrong processor and once ordered the wrong TV Tuner cards) and that has gone very painlessly. I would have ordered it with the RAM but for some reason HP is extremely expensive on memory. I am not the first to say so, chase down any sites that review laptops, they all say the same thing, order the laptop and buy your memory elsewhere. Of course, if you aren’t good with opening up your laptop, buy it with the RAM in it already as it will probably be worth it to you.
I was asked offline why I wanted Blue Tooth for the laptop. That is easy, Blue Tooth blows using IR and RF based Wireless Devices out of the water. I love Blue Tooth. I have it on my Sony-Ericsson T-637 and on my desktop and on my NC6000. It is great for sharing files or contact info and even better, I can use my T-637 as a MODEM without connecting any wires or anything. In fact, that phone can be in my pocket and I can tell the laptop to connect to it and hook me up to the internet. And I can still get regular phone calls through it at the same time. Very cool. Oh I also have a BT Keyboard and Mouse available for use as well which works from across the room quite easily.
