So I have gotten a couple of emails (and an IM) along the lines of “So what’s up with the laptop?”
To be perfectly frank, it sat cold and lifeless since my last post. I plugged it in to get the battery charged and that is as far as I got. Today after work I fired it up and let the XP Home install complete itself. I know XP Home…. yuck.
Well first impressions.
1. Wow this keyboard is big and I am not used to it… But the keys feel great.
2. Wow this picture quality is gorgeous!!! Res 1680×1050. Wish it were more but this will be acceptable.
3. WTF is the screen so shiney for? A: The brightview option. I chose that option for the resolution, not anything else. This would make it difficult to use in a room with direct bright lighting hitting the screen I think. Very reflective.
4. Overall this is a very nice looking laptop, I like all of the blue lights.
The wireless picked up 3 WAPS I have never seen before…
I am backing up the files now so I can wipe the harddrive and repartition it. Also I need to tear it open and verify the RAM type and order a couple of GB from NewEgg or someone else for it.
