One of the projects I am working on, this one with a good friend – stay tuned, requires some content management software that takes any/all sting out of web publishing process. Basically we were just looking for something to do content publishing that allowed us to set some security rules and user registration, etc, and then do all of the work for us except provide the actual content.
Previously I had looked at a product called Joomla for my sister’s site (http://gallery.trendyartist.com/) but she chose to go with some gallery software instead which made a lot of sense since she is an artist.
So that time spent previously looking at Joomla wasn’t wasted, we went with Joomla for our content management system and I have to say, the install was just simply incredible. I’ve had more trouble with Front Page and that is nothing compared to Joomla. Very professional installation mechanism. I highly recommend it. One of the other projects is a solo project but I was thinking about using Joomla for that as well and almost certainly will now.
