Yes. Or at least hopefully folks getting past the complaining when someone does it and someone else doesn’t like it. I was reading a thread in one of the newsgroups yesterday and it went from a decent discussion to someone whining that someone top posted when they had bottom posted. Just plain silly. If the posting isn’t how someone likes it, they should stop looking.
Seriously, ahem. As someone who spends _way too much_ time helping people on newsgroups for free, i find top-posting very irritating. Typically, I will just ignore these posts b/c my eyes are too damn tired. Usually, someone will point out the error politely and we move one;
Sure some people get out of hand, there’s one in every bunch; I think it all comes from outlook though. Good mail clients encourage indented and prefixed lines that make it easier to work with the mail client; But there has to be some protocol.
You left out inline posting. I presume we should get over that distinction too, yes?
