Mark blogged today about his first week at Microsoft. It sounds like pretty standard fare for starting at a large company including not having a working email address yet. But then, most large companies are using Exchange (Bwahahahahaaha – Hi Exchange Mom!). 🙂

The one thing that kind of concerned me was the statement:
In the near future, the next step will probably be to move the tools to the Microsoft download center, which will increase download capacity.
 My comment to that is please do NOT do it. Well ok, do it, but only keep the links from the sysinternals page pointing to the downloads at Microsoft Downloads. The MSFT Downloads site can be very difficult to find something when you actually know what it is exactly that you want, so bad that sometimes you will sit and wonder, did I imagine that tool or item and was it just a dream that they had that??? So if you don’t know what you are looking for, you have absolutely NO chance of finding it. However the sysinternals layout helps you find things you didn’t know you were looking for. Does that make sense?

Amen, brother! I have not seen a more convoluted congregation of sites that MS’s http://www.microsoft.com/downloads
I always use Google if I want to find something on Microsoft’s site.
Steve: That is good when you know what you are looking for, however for browsing when you know you want something that sort of works in such and such an area but you aren’t aware of something specific, a nice browsing capability is needed.
