Ok so now I am past the top 10 and the top 8… Mostly this is seeming boring to me. Carly is very good, she will have a career after this but I don’t think she can win. Kristy is stunningly beautiful and a good singer, she won’t win. Brooke is very good and getting less boring and I disagree with Simon, her version of Jolene was good, but still not going to win. Michael Johns is getting more and more impressive, but not going to win. Jason Castro did a great job with Somewhere Over The Rainbow with the Ukulele… As amazing as that was, still not going to win this show, but will go far if he wants to.
David Cook has really grown on me and is good but he is more of an entertainer than a pure singer. Couldn’t stand his version of Innocent though. From a singing standpoint.. .David A… still… David A all the way, that boy has golden vocal chords… He is looking rougher and rougher every week, he needs to get some sleep or something, I think this may be a little hard on him, he is a youngin… Anyway though, for this show… with the originality and entertaining power of Dave C… I think Dave A has a possibility he may not win. š When you really get down to it, American Idol isn’t really wholly a singing contest.
Honestly, they should just kick everyone else off the show and just have those two… But I will continue watching them in order.
P.S. Loved the tie in of American Idol with the So You Think You Can Dance for Idol gives back. I have the new season of SYTYCD queuing up now too I see.
P.P.S. “Simon… you make $40 million dollars a year, its time to step up from Super Cuts… It really is.”
“Couldnāt stand his version of Innocent though. From a singing standpoint..”
Cook massacred Innocent, I hope I never hear that version again.
I love Our Lady Peace, but if I was a contestant on American Idol, I definitely would not cover one of their songs. Raine Maida’s high pitch singing (which is drastically toned down on this song and the album as a whole) is way to hard to match.
