Redmond bound…

by @ 2:04 pm on 9/26/2005. Filed under general

I, with many other MVPs are Redmond bound for the week. A week spent with the MS Execs and Dev folks. Personally, I could probably do without the Execs and instead just spend the entire week with the dev folks. The execs are ok but that is mostly propaganda and the Devs are telling you how it really is. Plus you can’t really ask Steve Ballmer, “So how do I test the NSPI interface to verify it is working in a performant manner or even at all?”

I have to admit though that Steve is an exciting speaker, but given an option of an hour of Steve or say several days of Stuart Kwan who is the head of all of the Identity Management and domain stuff stuff and his people, I would chose the latter, Stuart has a great team under him and he is pretty good himself. The best part of the Exec talks are the cool little movies they put together. Last year there was a great short movie with Steve and Bill Gates as Matrix characters and a generous rip on one of their competitors, their oldest.

I haven’t had the occasion to see Bill Gates in person though; I wouldn’t mind seeing him. He hasn’t been available for thse last two MVP summits that I have attended for some reason.

Have a good fun there joe. I’m really missing this part of being MVP which is meeting other peoples on events like this summit. And only one summit I attended last year was great – also becouse possibility to talk with Product Groups. And I can agree on 100% on the execs\dev topic. So once again, have a good fun there for all MVPs.
