This just in, Galileo Galilei has been convicted of heresy by the Catholic Church. He has been sentenced to spend the remainder of his life under house arrest.
Galileo was convicted of heresy due to his writings supporting Copernicus’s obsurd theory that the Earth rotates around the sun in a Heliocentric manner versus the universe rotating around the Earth. Obviously this “theory” is patently false and thereby heretical as defined by the cardinals of the Inquisition in the 1616 decision that condemned the teachings of Copernicus.
Galileo is lucky all he got was house arrest for trying to further such absurd ideas in an attempt to harm the Church and its teachings in direct violation of Church policy. This should teach others who think they can defy Catholic authority and instruct the dirty masses in heretical theories. The masses need no other instruction in the operation of the universe other than what is dictated by the Catholic Church and the Holy see who are the dispensers of all Truth.
