A couple of years ago a friend asked me to add the ability to do an actual password change instead of a password set in the ChangePW utility. I made a quick change for him and sent it off as it needed it quickly. I planned on going back and updating the usage/help and the web site and upload the new version but forgot.
This evening I saw that someone asked for this capability from the command line in the newsgroups and everyone was giving advice on how to SET a password instead of how to CHANGE a password. I modified the usage really quick and then updated the website to make it available. You can get it here

CHANGE-ing instead of SET-ing password…
Command completed successfully.Â

Joe,
Can you explain the difference? Does a set ignore things like history or is that change?
Thanks,
Steve
Hi Steve:
I have actually gotten several folks asking about this as well as some folks in the newsgroups so I will write up a separate post.
