These emails just crack me up…

Well got another AFA email today… The gist of it is that they are ticked that the MPAA has rated a movie with Christian content as PG…

I have several comments on this one…

1. PG simply means parental guidance. There could be material that a parent may want to be there for with their children… The AFA seems to think this means that Christianity is being classified with sex, violence, and profanity. They wish they were that cool. 😉 Seriously, it just means that some parents may object to the content… The AFA seems to not understand that someone could object to Christian concepts… Oops, one more example of not being very open minded…

2. I agree with rating… The AFA would too if it were any other cult’s religious mumbo-jumbo. But since it is their cult, it is ok and shouldn’t be questioned and by god it is the natural way… Psst, sex is more natural than Christianity AFA…

3. The AFA cracks me up how they present it. Can the AFA membership be so weak willed that this will drive them to act? I wonder how many of them if any are starting to think, jeez, these people are crackpots. What thing will they go on a tirade against next…

One thing I like about this is that it is a perfect example of something I have been saying for some time… The folks looking to control others are happy with it until the same rules are used to take something from them. And guess what, this WILL happen. It is just a matter of time.

You may agree with the AFA now on something and want to take someone else’s rights away but what happens when you succeed and then some future right they want to take away is something YOU like. You are now on the outs and being smacked down and you have empowered them by supporting them in the past and showing that it is ok for them to make those decisions. For instance, lets say the AFA goes after cigar smokers or people who drive corvettes or someone who drinks a hot toddy when their throat is sore because they are not very godly things or are dangerous to us all (second hand smoke, drive too fast, alcohol). You think I am kidding but only because you agree to this point with what they have gone after.

So here is the AFA’s latest email…

MPAA places Christianity in same category as sex, violence, profanity

Be sure to forward this to your friends and family!

Dear Joe,

The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) is now warning parents of movies which contain a reference to the Christian faith, equating Christianity as being on the same level of sex, violence and profanity when it comes to objectionable material.

The MPAA is controlled by Hollywood moguls known for their bitter opposition to Christianity.

A new family film featuring miracles and a pro-God theme has earned the PG rating because it would offend non-believers. The MPAA refuses to give movies which promote the homosexual lifestyle a similar warning. In other words, MPAA warns parents if a movie has Christianity presented in a positive manner but refuses to warn them if homosexuality is presented in a positive manner.

Facing the Giants is the story of a Christian high school football coach who uses his undying faith to battle the giants of fear and failure. Due to the Christian content, the MPAA rated it PG, placing it in the same offensive category as sex, violence and profanity.

The plot includes several prayers being answered, a medical miracle, and a mystic who delivers a message from God. The scene which MPAA found most offensive was a discussion between the football coach and a boy named Matt. The coach says the boy needs to stop bad-mouthing his father and get right with God.

The boy replies: “You really believe in all that honoring God and following Jesus stuff? Well, I ain’t trying to be disrespectful, but not everybody believes in that.”

The coach responds: “Matt, nobody’s forcing anything on you. Following Jesus Christ is the decision that you’re going to have to make for yourself. You may not want to accept it, because it will change your life. You will never be the same.”

That, says the MPAA, is very objectionable and parents need to be warned.
