It appears I have an “uncompromising take it or leave it personality”. Who would have thunk it. 🙂

I admit, I do have strong opinions and they tend to come through pretty clear, if I think a certain way or have a certain feeling about something I am not the greatest at hiding that from people. You will rarely find me at a poker table for that reason alone. However, don’t let that prevent you from debating with me about things; I really do enjoy debate and will often stir the pot when I am looking for a little debate action. Also, I do change my mind from time to time based on the results of those debates or even in some cases simple conversations that explain things in a way I didn’t previously see. Point in fact, my mind has changed a little on MIIS due to some questions and answers at DEC. Don’t get me wrong, it still pisses me off that it uses SQL as the backend instead of a black blox like ESE and you have the matching management and licensing issues, but now I am starting to consider to look at it with an eye towards really understanding its potholes and high points (watch out MIIS Dev folks…).

Thanks to Gil for saying nice things and thanks for DEC overall (and of course thanks to Christine and Stella as well – brilliant job). As I mentioned previously, Dean and I both really enjoyed ourselves. It is a great chance for us to talk with lots of very bright folks who all care about Active Directory as well as chatting with some of our favorite ‘softies such as Stuart Kwan of the Ottawa Kwan Clan, Nathan Muggli, Brian Puhl, and others. The sense of community around Active Directory just gets stronger and stronger every year which I think is an absolutely great thing.
