I just recently watched Triumph of the Nerds by Robert X. Cringely again. That is such a good show if you are into the history of the computer revolution and how we got here and it is accessible to anyone, not just gear heads. Sure there are little problems with it here and there where technical accuracy wasn’t exactly spot on, but hey, this isn’t a manual, it is a humourous chat on how we got to where we were in 1996.

I think it is time for Bob to come out and do Triumph of the Nerds 2006 and show us what has been accomplished in the last 10 years and see if the Laws of Cringely still stand up.
One of my favorite parts in the show is when Steve Jobs is being interviewed and he talks about how good artists copy, great artists steal and then later complains how Microsoft doesn’t come up with anything original… There is also a good section with Larry “Mr. Insane” Ellison and you can just see how much he hates Microsoft which just makes me laugh.
