Looking for your caffeine boost?

by @ 1:39 am on 9/3/2006. Filed under general

About this time of night when I am writing code or as I am now, documenting something, I start thinking about Caffeine boosts. I went looking and found a web site with mg of Caffeine per volume for various beverages. You can find it here -> http://wilstar.com/caffeine.htm. I took that table and normalized it to 12 ounce beverages and sorted it all…

I feel like a lightweight only drinking Coca-Cola classic…

Enjoy.

  1. hello,

I think there is a mistake in your array.
You write 600 for coffee / espresso, while on the link you give it’s much less.

Italians drink a lot of espresso, but short one. This is because caffeine come after. The longer is a coffee, the more it contains caffeine. Short coffee have strong taste, but few caffeine.

    Good boost,

  2. joe says:

The website claims 2 ounces of expresso is 100 mg. Normalized to 12 ounces it becomes 100*6=600mg.

So that means a 2 ounce expresso is roughly equivalent to three 12 ounce cans of coca cola classic or an imported brewed tea.
